The Cycloidal / RV Reducer Designer is a single-file, browser-based engineering tool for the complete design and analysis of cycloidal speed reducers and RV-type (rotate-vector) reducers used in robot joints, servo actuators, and precision drives. It generates the epitrochoid cycloid disc profile from the pin-ring parameters and runs a full multi-physics analysis chain in real time as you edit inputs. Core capabilities: Geometry & kinematics — Epitrochoid disc profile generation, reduction ratio, undercut check (K1), optional input-stage for two-stage RV total ratio, output speed, key diameters, disc mass and inertia (including reflected inertia). Real load sharing — Clearance-based load distribution that moves beyond the ideal 50% assumption: equidistant (Δr_rp) and radial-shift (Δr_p) profile modification produce a clearance field, and a unilateral contact solution determines how many pins actually carry load and the peak pin force. It reduces exactly to the classic Malhotra distribution at zero clearance. Contact & LTCA — Hertzian line-contact stress with numerically computed curvature, plus a Boussinesq influence-matrix face LTCA solved with unilateral (LCP) contact, including lead crowning (C_β) and face misalignment (f_Hβ), giving the peak σ_H, face load factor K_Hβ, and a contact pressure map. Strength — Pin, output (carrier) pin, and eccentric cam-shaft bending stresses with safety factors. Stiffness & accuracy — Torsional stiffness (N·m/arcmin) and lost motion (backlash) from the loaded contacts and clearance. Bearing life — ISO 281 eccentric-bearing L10 life and the required dynamic load rating for a target life. Efficiency & thermal — Sensinger-type efficiency with loss breakdown (cycloid-pin, eccentric bearing, output pin), an efficiency-vs-load curve, and an estimated temperature rise. Outputs — Full design datasheet, JSON/CSV export, DXF cycloid profile, and server-side CadQuery STEP for disc, pin ring, carrier pins, eccentric cam, and the full assembly. Visualization — Synchronized animated 2D and 3D (Three.js) views of the meshing cycloidal mechanism with the eccentric cam, rolling carrier pins, swept load/contact pattern, and an adjustable simulation speed. Bilingual interface (English/Turkish).
